Furnace Installation, Replacement & Repair in Cullman, AL

Gas and Electric Furnace Service Across Cullman County

We Sell the Best and Service the Rest

North Alabama winters are mild most of the time, which is exactly why a furnace problem catches people out. Cullman County still gets genuine cold stretches, with temperatures dipping into the low 20s in January and February, and that is usually when a system that has been coasting finally quits. Bama Air Systems installs, replaces and repairs gas and electric furnaces across Cullman and the surrounding counties. Call 256-734-4181 if you have no heat right now, or pick the service you need below.

We have been doing this from 78 Lindsey Rd in Cullman since Alan Cofer founded the company in 1989. As a Daikin Comfort Pro dealer and a Goodman partner we install furnaces backed by strong manufacturer warranties, and our technicians repair every major brand, including Carrier, Lennox, Trane, Rheem, York and Amana.

A furnace is one of two ways we heat a Cullman home. Our heating overview compares gas furnaces against heat pumps so you can see which fits your house.

Heating Overview

What Our Furnace Work Covers

Furnaces fail differently from air conditioners. Most of what goes wrong sits in the ignition sequence, the burners, the blower or the safety controls, and several of those faults are combustion-related, which is why an annual inspection is worth more on a furnace than almost any other piece of equipment in the house.

Understanding AFUE Before You Buy

AFUE is the percentage of fuel a furnace turns into usable heat over a season, so a 96% AFUE unit converts nearly all of it while an 80% AFUE unit sends the rest up the flue. The Daikin furnaces we install cover that whole range: the DM96VC reaches up to 96% AFUE with a two-stage gas valve and a variable-speed blower, the DR92SN offers up to 92% AFUE with a heavy-duty stainless-steel tubular heat exchanger, and the DM80VC and DR80SN sit at up to 80% AFUE for homes where the higher-efficiency models are not the right economic fit. In a climate with a short heating season, the payback maths is different from the Midwest, so we walk through it with you rather than pushing the highest number.

Warning Signs Worth a Service Call

Short cycling, uneven heating from room to room, a yellow or flickering burner flame where it should be a steady blue, unusual smells at start-up, a blower that runs but pushes cool air, and heating bills that climb without a change in use all point to a furnace that needs attention. If you ever smell gas or suspect a cracked heat exchanger, shut the system down and call us straight away at 256-734-4181.

Furnace FAQs

  • Should I repair my furnace or replace it?

If your furnace is more than 15 years old, needs frequent repairs, struggles to heat your home evenly, or your heating bills keep climbing, replacement is often the more cost-effective choice. Repair costs that exceed half the price of a new system point the same way. We inspect the system and give you an honest comparison of repair against replacement so you can decide with full information.

  • What are the common signs my furnace needs repair?

Watch for short cycling, uneven heating from room to room, a yellow or flickering burner flame instead of a steady blue one, unusual smells when the system starts, rising heating bills, or a furnace that runs constantly without reaching the set temperature. A blower that runs but pushes cool air also points to a problem. If you ever smell gas or suspect a cracked heat exchanger, shut the system down and call us right away at 256-734-4181.

  • How often should a furnace be serviced?

Once a year, ideally in the fall before heating season. Annual maintenance keeps the burners clean, verifies safe combustion, checks the heat exchanger, and helps catch small problems before they become no-heat emergencies. Members of our maintenance program receive bi-annual tune-ups and priority scheduling.

  • What furnace brands do you install and repair?

We install Daikin and Goodman gas and electric furnaces and can source other major brands on request. We repair all major brands, including Carrier, Lennox, Trane, Rheem, York and Amana. As a Daikin Comfort Pro dealer we have factory-level training, and we service the rest as well.
